Hideaki Anno is known for his work Neon Genesis Evangelion. Little known that he worked with Hayao Miyazaki in mid 80s for Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. He made the illustraion of Giant
Warrior.
Anno is working with Hayao Miyazaki again this year for Ghibli's latest movie The Wind Has Risen ("Kazetachinu"). Anno does voice of
the main character Jiro Horikoshi.
He was quoted saying "At the audition Hayao Miyazaki told me 'this character is very silent and you do not have to speak much'. (When the recording started) I realized this chacater speaks all the time and in addition to this, I needed to sing, speak in French and German. I was cheated(laugh)". "It was not easy to be part of over 2 hour movie. It was physically and mentally tough but the climax was very moving", continued he.
As of 6th of June the other actors are annouced: Miori Takimoto will play Naoko Satomi, the main female character.Ohter actors are Hidetoshi Nishijima, Masahiko Nishimura, Morio Kazawa, Keiko Takeshita, Mirai Shida, Jun Kunimura, Shinobu Otake, Mansai Nomura.
