Japan Voice Actor News: Unsho Ishizuka -Professor Oak- passed away at 68 Year Old
Unsho Ishizuka who did the voice of Professor Oak in Pockemon passed away. He was 68 year old.
Ishizuka was born in Fukui pref in 1951.
In his youth he was into mountain climbing. After he did a solo acting in front of people he wanted to be an actor and joined several theater groups in Tokyo.
His family ran a motor bike shop. He rode a motor bike till he was 30.
In addition to the voice of Professor Oak, he did the voice of Heihachi Mishima in Tekken. He is known for the voice of Liam Neeson as a dubbed voice in Japan.
The production of Pockemon is finished up to the episode in the 1st week of October, 2018. Who will voice the Professor Oak after this is not yet decided.
He passed away due to a stomach cancer on 13 August, 2018.
