Natto, a traditional food in Japan, is not everyone's favourite. Even in Japan, there is a Natto line divining Japan into areas with Natto lovers (mainly people in east and north) and haters( people in west) which lies around Nagoya.

The legendary connoisseur, Rosanjin Kitaoji, found the golden rule how to prepare a great Natto. 


Based on his formula, you need to stir Natto(supposedly any Natto from super market... ) 305 times then put some soy sauce( supposedly any soy sauce..). After put the soy sauce, stir 119 times.

You can do this without this machine but this machine saves you time because as you turn the nob one time, the blade circles two times. Then, the soy sauce door opens right at the point the Natto stirred 305 times, and 119 times thereafter so that you never miss the critical milestones to prepare the great Natto.
