Japanese Yosegi Art shop list

Yosegizaiku ("寄木細工") is a type of traditional Japanese craft item which originated during Edo Period (1603-1868).  The beautiful mosaic work comes from the natural fine grains and textures of wood. 

You can see the yosegi art technique in this footage video.

Yosegizaiku are commonly used for secret boxes (Himitsu-bako "秘密箱" or puzzle boxes) which you need to solve the puzzle to open where you hide your treasures(!).

The technique is used to make various items such as trays, chests, jewelry boxes, vases, photo frames, coasters etc. We notice there are several shops which selling yosegi made in India.
